How to use these records
- Culver City's NetFile portal contains local campaign statements, contributions, expenditures and late-contribution reports. Filing dates and report numbers should be preserved because committees may amend reports and the same transaction can appear in more than one disclosure form.
- The FPPC Form 700 search provides Statements of Economic Interests for participating state and local agencies; Culver City records not present there may also be available from the City Clerk.
- California Cal-Access contains state-level campaign committees, contributors, expenditures and lobbying records. Los Angeles County maintains a separate disclosure portal for filings made with the County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
- Culver City's Legistar archive provides meeting agendas, staff reports, minutes, votes and available video. NextRequest is the City's portal for submitting and reviewing California Public Records Act requests.
- California BizFile can verify business-entity registrations and filings. IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search can verify federal nonprofit status and available returns.
- A missing search result is not proof that a filing, person or organization does not exist. Names, date ranges, amendments, alternate spellings and the correct filing jurisdiction all need to be checked.
- This project links to official records whenever available and does not republish private addresses, telephone numbers, bank information or other personal data that is unnecessary to explain a matter of public interest.
